Trans-Siberian Orchestra @ Hallenstadion - Zurich

Zurich, 16 March 2011

A ‘rock-symphony’ of pretty epic dimensions with a story centered around Beethoven. The Hallenstadion was all-seated for this and with a sloping floor which made life a lot easier when shooting from the soundboard.

1D4 with 70-200mm and 1.4x extender making it f/4.0. Plus a few shots on the 5D2 24-70mm at f/2.8. High ISO on both since we were about 50m away at the ‘board and I used the mono-pod for the long lens trying to keep the images steady. I’m never 100% happy with the image quality in these situations and if it becomes more frequent I will have to consider a 300mm f/2.8 to add to the collection…
